Yellow Nail Trend

If you are one to follow current trends and nail art, Yellow is the new “hot” color to use on your finger nails. Especially the neon yellows, that came out with a BOOM this year.

All shades of yellow are being used, from pastel buttercup hues to bright summer neon's. Katy Perry rocked her neon yellow nails which complimented her royal blue hair at the MTV Movie Awards. Rihanna is also spotted wearing her yellow nails polish with smiley faces on the tips. A trend I personally liked and decided to try. They looked lovely.

Yellow is very popular trend on the market. Chanel’s nail lacquer for this summer is “Mimosa” while OPI appropriately titled their shade of yellow ‘the “IT” colour.’ The colour is simply associated with cheerfulness and warmth. It can enhance one’s mood and contribute to a happy aura. I personally love the trend and would recommend that you try it.

My October Lookbook!!

Greetings Bloggers,

I have been very busy hosting events such as Bachelorette and Birthday parties for the past couple weeks so I haven't had that much time on my hands to prepare a blog for this month.

However, I decided to attach some lovely looks I am excited to try for parties I would be attending this month. The pieces can be found on:-

Just to name a few sites. If you don't have access to shipping feel free to message me and I can try to help you acquire pieces you love.

Asymmetrical Dresses are a Must Have!!

These dresses are for trend setters, they are different from the norm. You can achieve any look, be it elegant or casual with them. I absolutely love this trend. My sister wore one to a family wedding and looked so pretty!

(Annoyed because the picture refuses to rotate)

For my other look:

             Coral Blazers and White Jeans!
I am trying to have my own collection of colored Blazers. The coral color was my first pick! They match well with white jeans which are timeless. Below are other ways you can wear the coral blazer.

Neon colors are also in!! I love this bright neon yellow blazer and how well it went with the gold sequin pants. This is definitely a look I would love to try! The pink clutch was the perfect accessory to finish the outfit as well as the nude heels.

If one isn't daring enough to wear neon clothing there is always the touch of a bright accessory. This outfit below is very classy and the green clutch gave it that extra "pump". Another outfit I have to try... I am also a fan of animal print and those shoes are lovely! :)

Those are the looks I would be going for this month. Now for the fun part, SHOPPING!! :)

Sincerely,
Zwenz :)

House of Marley Concert: Review

The Marley brothers gave an exhilarating performance. They blessed the masses with their powerful reggae vibe and messages on one love, harmony and unity. Although I had an epic time seeing Damian "Jr Gong" Marley live, there are a few things that bothered me. For instance:

  • The Bar - It was under-staffed with hostile workers. I ordered a coke; the bartender pulled it out of the case and gave it to me without any ice or cups. By 2am the ice ran out as well as some of the alcohol provided. I was not in the "drinks inclusive" section.
  • The Programme - In between performances there wasn't any "vibes" due to the lack of planning of the show (I guess). Both Soca and Reggae performances were spectacular but the hype other than that died. Ryan Spartan saved the night with their selections of popular tunes. I had alot of fun with his segment.
  • Washrooms - The washrooms were located inside of the Stadium or to the front of it. To use it one had to leave the concert and go into the stadium or out front. In my opinion, it was too far.
Apart from those three little issues I had, the Marley Concert was indeed Magical and I am happy to have been apart of it. There were a lot of people dressed to compliment the Rastafarian culture and what it stands for. People sport the colors red, yellow and greens as well as maxi dresses and khaki shorts. While others wore their national colors to celebrate TnT 50th Independence.

Below I attached some pictures off outfits people wore to the event. Hope you didn't miss it and I am sure you agreed with my annoyances for the night. However, the concert performances were indeed breath-taking.

Regards,
Zwenz. xx

4 Easy Ways to Bring on the Calm!!

I would always believe that your smile is your best accessory!!! A girl could wear what, once she has the confidence, she would be able to sell it. Below is a list of four (4) simple ways to keep your calm and retain your smile, even in the face of adversity. Hope you find it helpful, I did. :)

4 Easy Ways to Bring on the Calm:-

Smile. It can lift your mood, a phenomenon known as the facial feedback hypothesis. Impairing frowning may disrupt the brain-body feedback loop, dampening negative emotions. Refrain from being negative, dwelling on negative thoughts and releasing a negative aura. Always think of the positive aspects of things and maintain that focus.

Sing. There’s evidence that a primitive sensory organ in the inner ear, the sacculus, might react to music, triggering a response in the hypothalamus that creates a pleasurable buzz. “Consider singing your worries out loud in a lilting voice,” says Reid Wilson, Ph.D., author of Don’t Panic: Taking Control of Anxiety Attacks. (Try something like “Bills, bills, bills—they suck!” to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.”) “Singing about worries makes them seem a bit absurd and helps put them in perspective.” It helps you not take life too seriously and be stress-free.

Sweat. “Exercise may buffer the brain from stressful situations,” says John Ratey, M.D., author of Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain. There’s some evidence that working up a sweat promotes the growth of new neurons that are less reactive to stress.
Soothe. Replay a memory—cooking with your grandma—that evokes safety as you place your hand on your heart or cheek. “You’ll activate neural networks associated with feeling cared for, which can help you feel safer,” says neuropsychologist Rick Hanson, Ph.D. Another tip: Imagine yourself as a tree with a wide trunk and deep roots; visualize any upsetting things blowing around you like the wind. Hanson says, “They might rattle the leaves, but they can’t hurt the tree.” Or you. Exercising with music also allow you to let go off negative energy and help you feel better about yourself, enhancing your confidence level.

Hang With Upbeat People. Emotions are contagious. “You can catch a mood, just like a cold,” says Marco Iacoboni, M.D., author of Mirroring People: The Science of Empathy and How We Connect with Others. When you watch a person doing something, the mirror neurons in your brain are activated, even if you’re not doing anything yourself. So if you see someone smile, your mirror neurons for smiling fire up, whether or not you’re in a good mood. “Spend time with happy people and you’ll eventually feel happier yourself,” Dr. Iacoboni says. Keep away from negative people who do not add value or contribute to your life.

Keep Smiling!!

How to Deal With Wavy/Curly or Relaxed Hair in the Heat!!

http://living.msn.com/style-beauty/makeup-skin-care-hair-tips/how-to-deal-with-wavy-hair-in-the-heat#2

These products, esp the Moroccan Oil, really works with our Tropical Climate. My hair is "relaxed", it already has chemicals that has it feeling dry or coarse.  It needs a lot of moisture to maintain that "saloon" look. The Moroccan oil gives my hair that gloss and light feel while eliminating all the frizz. I love it!! :)

Therefore, I am highly recommending it. I pay $200 a bottle which last me the month. If you  need one and can't find it in Pennywise, feel free to contact me and I would put you onto my Hair Dresser. :)

Wardrobe Update - It's about that time of year. :)

Girlyzzzzz I know I have been M.I.A for a while but no worries! I have been researching and viewing current trends of 2012 which I am very happy to share with you!!!

I have updated my wardrobe this month since I have been feeling so over whelmed with these heart warming trends from this Season. Trends I have fallen in love with and hope they stay with us for some time longer.

I found that these trends really add value to my outfits, image and over-all mood, and I'm sure it would do the same for you. These trends are:-

1.     Global Prints - neutral tones that are ready to be worn to the office or during your demanding weekdays. It helps maintain a calm, positive aura and vibe.

2.     Ocean Tones - A palette of cool blues that are water-inspiring and refreshing. Like the global prints it also contributes to a cool and natural vibe.

3.     Printed Pants - No more "everyday denims" when there are bolder and brighter bottoms to express yourself with. Just make sure you pair them with a solid color top and minimalist heels or sandals. I personally prefer ballerina flats.

Below we can see famous celebrities such as Vannessa Hudgens and Lil Wayne sporting the Printed Pants trend.

4.     Mixed Textures - Layering delicate fabrics always supply a feminine touch such as the lace and sheer finishes. They are sexy and classy at the same time. :)

5.     Bright day dresses - Pick your favorite shade of a bright color, royal blue and yellow for example, and accessorize with natural shades along with nude flats or sandals.

6.     Pleated/ full skirts - For the girly, preppy finish pair these lovely skirts with peter-pan collar blouses or conservative tops, minimal accessories and Mary Jane’s. :)

Thus far those are six of my favorite trends. Please feel free to message me on styling, putting pieces together or shopping within your budget to own these wonderful looks. Always remember, “a girl should always be two things: Classy and Beautiful.” – Coco Chanel. Xo!! <3
