Life is to short to blend in..2011!

The year 2011 is not only a new year, but a new decade.  This idea should indulge an entirely new generation of thought in other words “out with the old and in with the new.”  New Year’s Eve is upon us, which means time to decide what is going to be worn to bring in the New Year.

When I think about New Year’s Eve, the two “D” words pop into my head: Dazzling and Dramatic. I have gathered together some easy fashion tips from constant observation of my favorite celebrities, to assist in preparations for welcoming the New Year in style.

Firstly, I would start with the hair. For those who desire a change there is one rule…Just Change It! Select a hair color that suits you, your complexion and without hesitation change your hair color. For a more dramatic look, Rihanna has sported a Red hair color that is absolutely gorgeous.

As for those who are more reserved or conservative, try the “Side up-do” look.  Its very easy is do and very effective. Start by curling your hair with a large-barrel curling iron. Next, loosely braid your hair to the side. After securing with a woggle, break up the braid with your fingers and softly twist the braid against your head to create a rolled effect. Pin to secure and touch up any front pieces with a curling iron to finish.
Put it up: It's a lot easier to keep an up do looking perky all night than it is to keep every hair in place if you're wearing it down. Try a French twist or a messy low bun for options that will stay perfectly in place for hours.

Now let’s discuss outfits. If you’re thinking about a lady like polish then you should go for the round neck- line tops and full skirts or dresses with the full skirt bottom. Remember to use a belt to accentuate your flattering figure and define your waist line. However, if you’re the centre of attention kind of girl you should consider a strap-less colorful, printed dress or top with a playful full skirt. There is also the sexy lace and low neck line dresses for the flirtatious look. You can use accessories and perfectly high stilettos to create a shinny or dazzled finish, to make your look holiday party perfect. I got into the habit of using glitter eye shadow over the dramatic look (YouTube). It’s flirty and festive.

Keep in mind that the key elements are to be dazzled and dramatic. Be confident and look the part. Embrace the new year/decade and be safe. As Paris Hilton said “The only rule is don't be boring and dress cute wherever you go. Life is too short to blend in.” Have a Happy New year!!! <3 <3 xo!
