CARNIVAL STATEMENT – BOLD NECKLACES

Every woman should be excited about the image she is going to portray for the Carnival season. How she dresses, how her hair looks, her creative style. Along with her selection of fetes on the social calendar, should come with a selection of her outfits for each event.

My selections revolve around my favorite recent trend – Bold Necklaces. The collar necklaces, bib necklaces, neon color necklaces and statement pieces are a great way to accessorize a simple look and can definitely be a conversation starter. They create maximum impact with their vibrant colors and gorgeous designs.
Use a statement necklace to add drama to a plain top and jeans or a bit of interest to a dress you may have worn before. Choose colors that compliment each other, as well as your skin tone.  It would look amazing against classics such as a white shirt or tank tops worn underneath a blazer.

These necklaces are a great way to reinvent your wardrobe.  With all the style options, it’s easy to find an affordable piece that would suit your taste. As long as you keep the rest of your accessories at a minimal, simple and understated. Just leave it to the bold necklace to add that finishing touch and anchor your look.

Yellow Nail Trend

If you are one to follow current trends and nail art, Yellow is the new “hot” color to use on your finger nails. Especially the neon yellows, that came out with a BOOM this year.

All shades of yellow are being used, from pastel buttercup hues to bright summer neon's. Katy Perry rocked her neon yellow nails which complimented her royal blue hair at the MTV Movie Awards. Rihanna is also spotted wearing her yellow nails polish with smiley faces on the tips. A trend I personally liked and decided to try. They looked lovely.

Yellow is very popular trend on the market. Chanel’s nail lacquer for this summer is “Mimosa” while OPI appropriately titled their shade of yellow ‘the “IT” colour.’ The colour is simply associated with cheerfulness and warmth. It can enhance one’s mood and contribute to a happy aura. I personally love the trend and would recommend that you try it.

My October Lookbook!!

Greetings Bloggers,

I have been very busy hosting events such as Bachelorette and Birthday parties for the past couple weeks so I haven't had that much time on my hands to prepare a blog for this month.

However, I decided to attach some lovely looks I am excited to try for parties I would be attending this month. The pieces can be found on:-

Just to name a few sites. If you don't have access to shipping feel free to message me and I can try to help you acquire pieces you love.

Asymmetrical Dresses are a Must Have!!

These dresses are for trend setters, they are different from the norm. You can achieve any look, be it elegant or casual with them. I absolutely love this trend. My sister wore one to a family wedding and looked so pretty!

(Annoyed because the picture refuses to rotate)

For my other look:

             Coral Blazers and White Jeans!
I am trying to have my own collection of colored Blazers. The coral color was my first pick! They match well with white jeans which are timeless. Below are other ways you can wear the coral blazer.

Neon colors are also in!! I love this bright neon yellow blazer and how well it went with the gold sequin pants. This is definitely a look I would love to try! The pink clutch was the perfect accessory to finish the outfit as well as the nude heels.

If one isn't daring enough to wear neon clothing there is always the touch of a bright accessory. This outfit below is very classy and the green clutch gave it that extra "pump". Another outfit I have to try... I am also a fan of animal print and those shoes are lovely! :)

Those are the looks I would be going for this month. Now for the fun part, SHOPPING!! :)

Sincerely,
Zwenz :)

House of Marley Concert: Review

The Marley brothers gave an exhilarating performance. They blessed the masses with their powerful reggae vibe and messages on one love, harmony and unity. Although I had an epic time seeing Damian "Jr Gong" Marley live, there are a few things that bothered me. For instance:

  • The Bar - It was under-staffed with hostile workers. I ordered a coke; the bartender pulled it out of the case and gave it to me without any ice or cups. By 2am the ice ran out as well as some of the alcohol provided. I was not in the "drinks inclusive" section.
  • The Programme - In between performances there wasn't any "vibes" due to the lack of planning of the show (I guess). Both Soca and Reggae performances were spectacular but the hype other than that died. Ryan Spartan saved the night with their selections of popular tunes. I had alot of fun with his segment.
  • Washrooms - The washrooms were located inside of the Stadium or to the front of it. To use it one had to leave the concert and go into the stadium or out front. In my opinion, it was too far.
Apart from those three little issues I had, the Marley Concert was indeed Magical and I am happy to have been apart of it. There were a lot of people dressed to compliment the Rastafarian culture and what it stands for. People sport the colors red, yellow and greens as well as maxi dresses and khaki shorts. While others wore their national colors to celebrate TnT 50th Independence.

Below I attached some pictures off outfits people wore to the event. Hope you didn't miss it and I am sure you agreed with my annoyances for the night. However, the concert performances were indeed breath-taking.

Regards,
Zwenz. xx

House Of Marley Concert

The four sons of the Legend Bob Marley are going to showcase a live performance in Trinidad on the 30th August, 2012!!!!

It is only fitting to enter soca and reggae royalty on the eve of Independence day in Trinidad and Tobago. Celebrating our 50year anniversary with us, none other than:

The House of Marley: Damien "Jr Gong" Marley (my fav!), Stephen, Ky-Mani and Julian Marley. As well as our very on soca artists Bunji Garlin, his wife; Fayann along with her Father the infamous "Super Blue" and the "single forever" chutney singer K.I.

I am disappointed that Machel Montano HD is not a part of the show but I am contented with Jr Gong. *blushes* :)

I already have my ticket, so look out for my review and see you there!!! :D
